ABOUT ART BEAT
Art moves us forward, and for us, it begins with the artist.
Our Story
It is 2026, and Art Beat Nashville has evolved since opening its Gulch gallery and gift store in 2021. In a city known for music and Honky Tonks, we wanted to create a space where visual art had its own spotlight.
What I loved most quickly became clear: the artists I came to know, their talent, who they are, and how it felt to be in community with them.
A Turning Point
It felt like a fleeting moment because, post-Covid, the spaces that sell art were becoming increasingly challenged in our trendy city by the rising costs of retail. So, in 2023, it felt like a good time to try something different. We moved beyond our four walls and began exploring new ways to grow Art Beat, both online and out in the community
A New Model
Online felt like the right place to hit reset. While Etsy has proven to be a very successful concept, it has grown further from its origins. Etsy has become more crowded and harder to navigate for both buyers and sellers, so a smaller, homegrown online marketplace made sense. That is where Art Beat steps in, think Etsy, but more curated and local.
How It Works
Artists have full control over their listings, adjusting inventory as work sells. Alongside the shared marketplace, each artist has a dedicated portfolio page offering a deeper look into their practice for those wanting a more guided process looking for art.
Consultation
Art Beat offers consultation for businesses, designers, and art lovers looking to find the right work for their space. We help you think through what fits, from individual pieces to larger groupings, always keeping the feeling of the space in mind. The goal is to make the process feel natural, collaborative, and grounded in what moves you.
We are excited by the recent opportunity to also share art in-person. Through our partnership with SNAP, Art Beat hosts First Saturday Art Crawls beginning March 7 and maintains a gallery-style showroom in the SNAP building. Artwork remains on the walls between crawls and is available to view by appointment.
This allows us to offer the convenience of a digital marketplace with wall space to share art in person, and a place to gather and host events.
I see this as the beginning of many doors opening as we grow, whether through events, helping you find art for your home, or giving you a window into the art that colors our city. It's good to be back in the local art scene again!
Our Commitment to Community
Art Beat was founded on the idea of creating a space where everyone feels they belong. We recognize that building a truly representative marketplace is an ongoing journey. We are actively working to expand our community to ensure that Art Beat reflects the full, diverse heartbeat of Nashville
Where Art Is From
The heart of Art Beat is Nashville. Most of our artists live and create right here or nearby, with others from around Tennessee. Every now and then, we feature work from outside the state when it adds something that feels right for our collection. We always share who created each piece and where it was made, so you know exactly who you are supporting.
Art Beat is energized by my love for my lifelong home of Nashville, my admiration and respect for the many local artists I know, and the countless more I have yet to meet. I am honored to be part of Nashville’s art community.
